As results came in across the US on election night, readers didn’t have to wait for the next morning’s paper. Several of our US publishers used PageSuite’s tools to bring live coverage straight into their digital editions and apps.
eEditions beyond the PDF
All of the eEdition examples below run on PageSuite’s new Edition Reader, which lets publishers combine HTML pages with PDF pages in the same edition. Those HTML pages can carry webviews, interactive elements, video content and more, so a familiar print-style edition can also hold live, changing content.
Publishers can also add late pages or make page replacements to their editions as results come in. On election night, that is often well after the print deadline.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: live results inside the eEdition
AJC readers could follow the latest numbers without leaving the paper they were reading. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution inserted an HTML page into its PDF edition and used it to show live election results as they came in.

Newsday: extra pages to promote live TV coverage
Newsday used its edition to point readers to its live election coverage. It added extra pages to the front of the eEdition to promote its live Newsday TV coverage. The new edition toolset in the Newsday app makes it simple to insert pages like these.
MediaNews Group: dedicated election sections
MediaNews Group gave readers one clear place to find election coverage by adding special ‘Election’ sections within some of its eEditions. Titles including the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, The San Bernardino Sun and Redlands Daily Facts carried election results via HTML inserts in their eEditions.
Apps that carry the latest results
Newsday: an election night hub in the app
Newsday turned its app into a hub for election coverage:
- Live streaming from the studio. Newsday streamed results coverage directly from its news studio to the mobile app and its OTT apps.
- Interactive polling. A webview banner across the top of the app ran an interactive poll, showing readers the latest results as they came in.
- A live results map. Readers could follow results from across the country on a live map.
Maine Trust for Local News: an election hub in the app
Maine Trust for Local News set up a dedicated election section for readers of the Press Herald+ app.
- In the weeks before polling day, a ‘Voter Guide’ and ‘Election 2026’ section were added as sub-sections within the Politics feed. Some of these served web views, whilst others served dedicated news feeds that pulled together election content.
- Election results links were then added for all three regions.
- On election day, a bottom-bar tab was renamed ‘Election’ and served the live web view so readers could see results easily, and a live map as the votes came in.

Built for moments that matter
Big news moments are when readers turn to their trusted local or national titles, and when publishers need to move fast. With PageSuite, publishers could add pages and embed live content quickly, without waiting for an app store releases or tickets to reach sprints.
