Introduction

Alabaster Publishing creates distinctive publications focused towards reaching key target audiences. Their core aim is to provide useful local information for readers and to promote independent and healthy lifestyles within communities.

PageSuite collaborated with Alabaster Publishing to upgrade their annual publication The Golden Guide, which is a free handbook serving the over 50s in Northumberland. Towards the end of 2014, they wanted to convert their existing digital edition to a more professional yet cost-effective version. With the requirement to increase their audience and user experience, PageSuite developed a simple yet effective digital handbook available to view on desktop, mobile and tablet.

Implementation

  • PageSuite worked with Alabaster Publishing to deliver results aligned with their key specifications. They wanted a reliable digital edition to improve their readers’ experience and expand their audience.
  • It was mandatory that the edition was optimized for the target audience. Combined with simple search functionality for easy browsing, PageSuite implemented an audio option for visually impaired readers.
